October Festival ‘Celebrate Life in Tunica’ features The Best of Motown

TUNICA, Mississippi (September 28, 2007)—The Best of Motown will be performing the sounds of one of the most influential periods in music history at the Hollywood Casino on October 29, 2007 from 4pm – 6pm as part of Celebrate Life in Tunica.  

The Best of Motown is a high-energy musical journey through the hits of the great Motown artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Lou Rawls , The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, and many others.  Lead singer Kirk Hunter is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and arranger from Detroit, Michigan, home of Motown.   He’s been singing for over 30 years starting in Detroit and currently appearing in Branson, MO.

Immediately following The Best of Motown, the Elvis Extravaganza Regional Contest will also take place at the Hollywood Casino as part of Celebrate Life.  Dozens of Elvis impersonators will compete for the Southeast Regional Title with the winner advancing to the finals to be held on January 6-7, 2008, in Laughlin, NV. 

Celebrate Life is sponsored by the Hollywood Casino and the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau,.  Additional Celebrate Life in Tunica activities include a Seniors’ Prom, variety shows featuring senior entertainers, A Taste of the South Party,  fitness activities, a wellness fair, a Sock Hop, educational seminars, free gaming tournaments, karaoke, and more!
